About us

Leith Churches Together (formerly Leith Council of Churches) has been in existence for over 25 years, and includes a remarkable range of traditions – Baptist, Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, Anglican, United Free, Ukrainian Catholic, United Reformed Church, Methodist.  Over the years, LCT has continued to explore ways of deepening the bonds between the churches, and encouraging mutual witness to the Gospel message through action and prayer, serving the community of Leith. 

LCT has an executive committee which meets every 2-3 months.  See Committee page for details. The current office holders are:  

David Igoe (Chair) - St Mary’s Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church

Rev. John Tait (Co-Chair) – Pilrig St Paul’s Church of Scotland

Robert Munro (Treasurer) - Ebenezer UF Church of Scotland,

Jennifer Stark (Secretary) – Leader of Leith Churches Outreach Project

New group meeting.  In January 2011, the clergy and church workers of Leith also started to meet regularly for a shared lunch, fellowship and exchange of ideas.  At present we meet on the first Tuesday of the month,  12 noon – 1.30 at North Leith Session House, Madeira Place.  There is no fixed programme – just come when you can!  Next meeting: Tuesday 7 February.

Coffee and tea available – please bring your own sandwiches.   The meeting is open to anyone working in church/community in Leith.
